My battery was sliding in its tray so I folded some paper towel and used it as a spacer on the clip.
Obviously, not a long term fix, but it'll do for a few hundred miles.

I've got wood blocks spacing out my battery in the tray and have done for years

I’ve used zip ties zipped to zip ties to wrap around mine. It’s fiiiiine, except zip ties could work indefinitely, I’ll be impressed if that paper towel shim lasts 2 days.

A small ratchet strap would be vastly better temporary solution.

Grab the battery and try to shake it loose. That’ll tell you how sketchy it is.

Moderate sketch. Something less compressible would be better. Even just regular paper, since that’s not designed to absorb.

I wouldn’t jump the car (
getting air not with jumper cables) until you can get it anchored down.

Drill a hole straight through the battery and anchor it into the chassis with a through bolt.

How else are we supposed to truly test its effectiveness?

How grounded would the battery be?
So grounded.

I noticed as I was getting my car prepped for a 200 mile drive home. This is going to be super short term, as in I'll try to change it tonight.

I mean, it doesn't, so...

Somehow that is not in my toolkit...

I have a small piece of wood under the strap in the Jaguar. Holds it a little tighter. Hasn’t caught fire yet.

Eh, should be fine short term.

Stupid and overly complicated. Just squeeze out a blob of silicone and set the battery down on top of it. Anyway, the battery cables will hold it in place.
